About Open Graph Checker
The Open Graph Checker shows how a link will look when it is shared, with mock-ups of the Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Slack card drawn from the page's own og: and twitter: tags. A completeness score counts the ten tags that matter, from og:title, og:image and og:type through to the four twitter: equivalents, so a missing image or card type surfaces before you publish. Checking a URL sends it to this site's server, which fetches the page and reads its meta tags.
Use Cases
How to use
Enter the URL whose social preview you want to check, for example https://example.com, or click a chip such as github.com.
Press Enter or click Preview to fetch that page's Open Graph and Twitter Card tags.
Read the Completeness score and its tick list, which checks og:title, og:description, og:image, og:type, og:url, og:site_name and the four twitter tags.
Switch between the Facebook, Twitter / X, LinkedIn and Slack tabs to see how the link renders on each platform, image, title and description included.
Scroll to Detected Tags for every og: and twitter: value the page really returned, and add any tag marked with a cross to your own page.
Pro Tips
- Paste your content directly — the Open Graph Checker detects common input patterns and applies sensible defaults automatically.
- Use keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/Cmd+A to select all, Ctrl/Cmd+C to copy) to speed up your workflow inside the Open Graph Checker.
- For very large inputs, break them into chunks — most browser tabs can handle megabytes of text, but parsing huge payloads may freeze the UI briefly.
- The Open Graph Checker does not log or store your input. If you need history, copy important outputs to a local file or note app.
- Combine the Open Graph Checker with other tools on this site (formatters, converters, encoders) to build complete data pipelines without leaving your browser.
